3 months old already!

Zane will be 3 months old on Monday...believe it or not. Each day Zane is more and more fun! He has such a personality and loves to talk! He is also getting big. He is almost too big for some of his 3 month old clothes. I assume he weighs close to 12 lbs. I'm not 100% sure, but can tell you he is getting heavy!! He's smiley and so talkative. He has officially slept through the night for 3 of the last four nights! Boy, what a blessing:) He's the best little guy a mom could ask for!

In the last few weeks Zane's cousin Kellie came out to visit as well as Andy. We were pretty busy when Kellie was here...we went to the Renaissance Festival, a rodeo at Cheyenne Frontier days and Rocky Mountain National park. When Andy came out to visit us we spent most of our time hanging out at home and fishing. He even caught a walleye while he was out here. Not fair; I live here, I've been fishing twice as much as he has and I'm yet to catch a fish!!!

Zane's Grandma and Grandpa Engels are out here visiting right now and will be here until Friday the 15th. They've been such a big help, especially since I went back to work last week. It's really nice to know he's safe and being loved while I'm at work. It made is a much easier transition getting back to work. I still miss him like crazy though:)

This will be the last post with pictures for a bit as my camera is broken and we need to buy a new one. These pictures are about 2-3 weeks old.

Big smiles

He knows he's cute!

Oh, our little guy is 2 months old!

Zane is 2 months old now, can you believe it!! We went to the doc today for his check up and shots. He is officially 10 lbs, 2 oz. Getting big. He's been smiling at us and talking to us. Oh, it's so amazing. He's also putting himself to sleep still in his crib, which I think is pretty neat. Now, the next step hopefully is to sleep through the night.

Brian just went back to work a week ago. We loved having him home with us for 6 weeks. We spent some quality time fixing up the house, fishing and relaxing. I will be going back to work on August 3rd, which is coming soon. We found a great daycare for him and he'll be going there 3 days a week. It makes me sad to go back to work, but reality is coming soon. I know he'll be in good hands and it is only a few days a week. Luckily, he is close to my work and Brian's so we can visit him the first few weeks until we are all adjusted. Zane is very easy going and will adapt quickly...mom on the other hand might take awhile.

Kellie, our niece and her boyfriend are here with us right now. We're having a lot of fun, and she's completely in love with Zane. We've just been hanging out around the house, but Zane had another fishing experience...he's a good fisherman, that's for sure!

The next few weeks will be busy..we're going to Cheyenne frontier days, Andy is coming back, Grandma and Grandpa Brinkman are coming out and Paul and Carole...we can't wait for you all to meet our little man!

Zane is 7 weeks already

The past few weeks have been really busy, but we've sure had fun. Our friends Katie and Wes came to visit us for a few days as well as Grandpa and Grandma Burton. We were very busy; we went to Rocky Mountain National park with Zane, a Rockies game with Grandpa and Grandma Burton, and we saw the most amazing fireworks there. He sure enjoyed meeting Grandpa and Grandma. He doesn't even know how many people love him!

Zane is growing like crazy. I think he is about 9 lbs. and is about 23 inches or more. We'll find out for sure on July 18th at his 2 month appointment. He is so alert and just an amazing little boy. He is smiling, rolling from his tummy to his back and side to side. He also moved from sleeping in a pack and play in our room, and to sleeping in his own room and crib. He slept very well, thank goodness! We decided it was time, for one he is only has about 2 inches left in the pack n play (like I said, he is growing) and he was able to put himself to sleep twice yesterday. This of course was with the help of the aquarium from Julia. It plays music and bubbles with fish, and he loves it. I found that music is the trick to him sleeping.

Zane's Firsts

Zane if 5 weeks old today and on Friday he weighed 7 lbs, 15 oz. Remember 5 weeks ago he was 5 lbs, 8 oz. Yep, he's a growing boy! He is very alert and loves to cuddle. He has experienced so many things in his short time here....last week was a very busy week for Zane. Like I said, firsts! This week he did a lot of things for the first time; met two of his grandparents, and uncles/aunts, went to the Rockies game, met mom and dad's friends and their little ones, went to the mountains, went out for dinner and went to the park.

He went to his first Rockie's game with the Stanek/Sisson family. He had a blast...really, he slept through the entire thing. We know this will be on of many he'll see. Brian and I have come to accept that he will be a Rockies fan since he was born here, but we'll make sure he cheers for the Twins too!!

He also met his Grandma and Grandpa May, Uncle Andy and John and Auntie Julia. We had so much fun. He loved having them here and meeting them. Andy couldn't get over how little he was, and I know if Julia and John could, they would have packed him in her suitcase and brought him home. Zane took his first trip to the mountains, Mount Evans with everyone and saw his first mountain goat. It was so much fun! While they were here we also went out for dinner, which was another first for Zane. He again, slept through the entire dinner. We also went for a long walk and to the park with John and Julia.
He is also rolling from his tummy to his back. I don't think it's because he is trying, it think it is because he doesn't want to be on his back, but it's pretty cute. He's also mimicking us. When we stick out our tongue he does too.

I hope you all enjoy our updates!

Update!

Sorry, I haven't posted for a while....I find my self saying this each time I post lately. We've been very busy getting to know Zane, Doc appointments and thankfully resting too. Zane will be one month old next week...WOW, time has flown by. It's amazing how much he has changed since he was born. He definitely has a personality and is such a great baby. He's calm and easy going like his daddy (thank goodness) and very alert. We were prepared that he'll be a month behind since he was a month early, but the doctor isn't seeing it a whole lot.

He's following toys with his eyes, he'll turn his head when he hears my or daddy's voice and is feeding well and gaining weight. Our official on month weigh in will be on Monday, which ironically was his actual due date. I can't wait to find out what he weighs. We went in to see the lactation consultant yesterday and she weighed him at 7 lbs. 1 oz. The doctors scale is more accurate as we've been weighing him there since we brought him home from the hospital.

We are also planning to get his pictures taken hopefully next week. We had to wait since he's swimming in all of his clothes. We can't wait to share some pictures with all of you.
